Lego Project: Complete

Jake and I (and to some degree Emma) have been working on a pretty challenging Lego project. As previously, noted, there were a bunch of pieces missing, but we were able to get some replacements.

We finished the project today. This was no easy project. There were several hundred steps and some of them were pretty tricky.

Jake lost interest in the last 20 steps or so, and I had to drag him to the table today to get him to finish it, but he was pretty excited when we finished.

I’m a little worried that Emma felt a little left out today, but this kit was rated for 10 to 14 year-old’s and I she wasn’t able to hold her interest. Plus, Jake has been a little upset recently and it’s been good to get some one-on-one time with him.

Nice Weekend Planned for the 4th

We’ve got a nice weekend planned: friends are coming over tonight and bringing their 2 girls and then we are going to the “trabin” (trailer cabin :) ) for the weekend. That means fishing, boating and grandma is making the crazy Martha Stewart fried chicken that involves soaking it in buttermilk overnight. YUM!!

Small Rant: I’m building this set with Jacob. It was expensive, but he’s showing a passion for lego.

…and it missing these two very small parts (probably less than a $.10 worth).
It will take them 3 WEEKS to send replacement parts. Grrr!!! What was supposed to be a fun kit is turning into a lesson in caveat emptor for Jake.
